BBC's iPlayer reaches 75mn downloads

May 23, 2008 - The BBC's iPlayer catch-up online video service has reached the milestone of 75mn pieces of content delivered, with 21mn programmes downloaded in April 2008 alone, up 21% from February 2008.

Storage and backup services to generate US$ 188mn for US ISPs by 2012

May 9, 2008 – Storage and backup services are projected to generate an additional US$ 188mn in subscription revenue for US broadband service providers in 2012, with over 1.5mn consumers signing up for the services, according to a new report from Parks Associates.

April 30, 2008 – Semiconductor and CE firms Intel, Infineon, Texas Instruments and Panasonic have announced the formation of HomeGrid Forum, with the intention of promoting home networks which use domestic wiring such as electricity, phone and coaxial cable lines.

Video roundtable - Next generation cable
