New Independent Video-on-Demand Deals for BT Vision

August 15, 2006 - BT today announced the conclusion of four new video-on-demand film, TV and music deals with independent producers and distributors for its TV-via-broadband service, BT Vision, which it will launch in autumn 2006.

The new deals are with Entertainment Rights plc, the media group specialising in the ownership of children's and family programming, characters and brands; NBD Television, producer and distributor of drama, children’s, music, entertainment and documentary programming; Wall to Wall Television, producer of factual and drama programming and Portman Film and Television, the independent film and TV distribution company.

Entertainment Rights plc will be providing access to children’s TV series Postman Pat and Basil Brush. NBD Television will be supplying just under 60 hours of concerts and factual music programmes including examples such as Oasis, Live by the Sea; Duran Duran; Live at Wembley 2004 and Queen’s concert We Will Rock You. Portman Film and Television’s be providing the highly successful comedy drama series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. Wall to Wall Television will provide a mixture of lifestyle and documentary titles, including: Rosemary: Queen of the Kitchen.

At launch, BT Vision customers will be able view a range of film, music and television programming all available on-demand as well as all the Freeview channels, plus interactive and communications and all available on the TV.
