Xperinet develops RAIDsync content synchronisation for media serversJuly 6, 2007 – Xperinet, a US developer of convergence technology products for the custom electronics design and installation (CEDIA) industry, has unveiled RAIDsync, an engine designed to synchronise music and video over the Internet between its Multiple Independent Replay Video (MIRV) media servers.
John Cox, CEO of Xperinet, comments: “RAIDsync is a significant enhancement for our customers who have multiple homes and don’t want to load a new CD or DVD separately at each location. We have many clients who purchase one MIRV for their primary residence and one for their vacation home. This new feature will keep both systems always up to date with their complete library.” The system is not limited to two locations either, with an unlimited number of homes capable of being joined together into a synchronisation group, upstream bandwidth permitting. MIRV servers are available supporting HD video and with up to 4.5TB of storage. RAIDsync will be made available in firmware version 3.4 from July 2007, with existing MIRV customers planned to receive a firmware update. RAIDsync also features file transfer recovery, for when a connection is lost, and bandwidth throttling for when other Internet applications are in use. |
