NDS, VBox and Cyberlink to jointly deliver fully converged TV and PC platform to Israeli satellite pay-TV operator ‘yes’September 5, 2007 – NDS, VBox and Cyberlink have announced that they are teaming up to deliver a fully converged TV and PC platform to Israeli satellite pay-TV operator ‘yes’, enabling its customers to watch premium satellite content on their PC.
The solution includes a DVB-S tuner from VBox, which is integrated with NDS’ VideoGuard PC software to protect the content, along with Cyberlink’s PowerCinema entertainment software for the PC. The solution will also include PC-TV software applications and digital video recording capability, as well as electronic programme guides, secure content downloads, Video-on-Demand and on-demand services. “’yes’ sees a great market opportunity in PC-based entertainment as we are constantly looking for the most innovative pay-TV applications to offer our subscribers,” said Ron Eilon, CEO of ‘yes’. “By converging the technology of these industry leaders, we are once again differentiating our service, allowing us to combine our strong offering of high-quality video, including our new HD channels, together with our ‘yes’ broadband services, providing our subscribers with a first-rate user experience.” The content can also be transferred to other PCs via the NDS VideoGuard Key, part of the VideoGuard PC solution, meaning that users can watch their programming on any PC. |
