D-Link announces firmware upgrade enabling HD media player to access Internet TV

September 27, 2007 – D-Link has announced a firmware upgrade for its DSM-520 MediaLounge Wireless HD Media Player which will enable users to access Internet television programming and content from sites such as YouTube, Google Video, BBC News and others.

The manufacturer claims that over 200 online channels can be seen on the TV by using the media player’s active-TV technology.  The line-up includes programming from 36 US channels, offering movies, music videos, sport, news and more.  Notable channels include Comedy Central, AOL Video, MTV, Musicmatch, Napster, FOX Sports, Reuters news, Yahoo! Sports and CinemaNow.

The line-up also includes international programming from 14 countries, such as the BBC and other networks from the UK, and other channels from Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France, Japan, Poland, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Norway and Korea.
