Sony Japan launches high-definition video sharing site enabled by new set-top box

November 21, 2007 – Sony Japan has launched a high-definition video sharing website, enabled by a new network set-top box and delivered to Sony Bravia TVs.

The eyeVio HD service is capable of delivering 1280 x 720 resolution content, and is enabled by the new BRX-NT1 network set-top box, which costs ¥27,800 (US$256).

At present the service only offers a dozen or so animated titles, but from next spring will also allow users to upload their own high-definition content for on-site sharing.
