Connected consumers in US “hesitant” to use digital media adaptors, says studyNovember 28, 2007 – US consumers with broadband connections are “hesitant” to use digital media adaptors to connect their PC to their stereo or TV, preferring RCA or similar cables, according to a new study from Parks Associates.
The survey, called “Digital Media Habits II", found that roughly 9% of broadband users in the US have a stereo connected to their computer, with 50% of these using RCA or similar cables to connect the devices, compared to 28% of respondents reporting that they use wired or wireless digital media adaptor. 4% of US broadband users reported that they have a TV connected to their computer, with 31% using S-Video or similar cables and 30% using a digital media adaptor. “Simple and cheap will beat expensive and complicated among shoppers looking for a way to connect entertainment devices,” said John Barrett, Director of Research for Parks Associates. “What would you pick? The cables are not only cheaper but also easier to install, and you sacrifice only a few features.” |
