iRiver introduces UNIT 2 multimedia home networking device

January 15, 2008 – iRiver unveiled its forthcoming UNIT 2 multimedia home networking device at the CES 2008 show recently held in Las Vegas.

The UNIT 2 is designed as an all-in-one solution for integrating personal digital content such as music, photos and movies with a TV and set-top box.  The  device features a 7” touch screen interface and built-in stereo speakers, as well as a DVD player, CD player, DivX player, VoIP phone, VoIP video phone, SMS/MMS, Internet browsing and web mail.

Communications features include built-in Wi-Fi, built-in microphone and wireless Access Point, while storage capabilities include a 30GB hard disc drive and 2GB of NAND Flash.  No announcements have yet been made on price or availability.
