Archos reveals Wi-Fi DVR

February 7, 2008 – Archos has revealed its new Archos TV+, a wireless digital video recorder (DVR) with the option of a built-in Internet browser.

The Archos TV+ comes with either an 80GB or 250GB hard drive which can record from an external Sky or Freeview box, and can also stream AV content from anywhere on a home Wi-Fi network.  The Internet browser costs an extra £20, and can also display Flash video content.

The unit also comes with the Archos Content Portal, which enables users to download films and start watching them before the download has finished.  Also included is a remote control that can be used for entering Web addresses or even writing emails.

The Archos TV+ costs £170 for the 80GB capacity model, and £240 for the 250GB model.  The units are available now, with strong shipments expected to be available in the next three weeks.
