More details surface on Hauppauge’s new HD PVR

February 11, 2008 – Some new details have surfaced on the high-definition personal video recorder (PVR) being developed by US firm Hauppauge, courtesy of the Snapstream blog.

The Hauppauge HD PVR has a component video input connection and can accept up to 1080p resolution streams.  It will be able to encode to H.264 transport streams at up to 25 Mbps, and will have a video out connector, although this is not expected to be used due to the Ambarella driver used.

The unit is expected to retail for around $250 and ship before the end of the first quarter of this year.
