Setanta teams up with Hauppauge to deliver live sport to PCs
February 12, 2008 – Pay TV broadcaster Setanta Sports has teamed up with Hauppauge Digital, a US developer of TV-on-a-PC solutions, to deliver live sports to desktop and laptop PCs in the UK.
Owners of a PC with a TV tuner card can plug Hauppauge’s new pay-TV card reader into their PC to access live Barclays Premier League games, the FA Cup, World Cup qualifiers, boxing, rugby, racing and golf.
The new Hauppauge-Setanta card reader package includes a card reader, a Setanta viewing card and the first month’s subscription (worth £19.99).
“Setanta is a great way to enjoy live sports, including Premiership matches, for under a tenner a month, and without an annual subscription,” said Yehia Oweiss, Vice president of Sales EMEA for Hauppauge Digital. “We see this as the perfect add-on for a PC in a home office or bedroom. Of course, the viewing card can also be shared with other set-top boxes in the house, widening its appeal.”
The Hauppauge-Setanta card reader package costs £99, and also requires a Hauppauge digital TV card (costing about £30) and a monthly subscription charge to Setanta Sports of £9.99.
