AT&T debuts in-home service for PC, TV and home network support
August 22, 2008 - AT&T has launched a new nationwide service called AT&T ConnecTech, providing a full suite of in-home services for set-up and support of PCs, TVs, home networks and home theatres, as well as repair services.
Available for customers and non-customers alike, the service includes home network installation of multiple broadband-enabled devices, computer and network diagnosis, remote PC and phone support for digital products, home video installation and custom installation of home theatre and TV equipment.
“The home services industry represents a billion dollar marketplace,” said Carmen Nava, Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing Operations for AT&T. “We’re using our strength in TV and broadband services to integrate both the product and care needs of today’s digital consumer.”
This service represents a further incursion by AT&T into the connected homes of the US, following the success of its multi-play bundles and U-verse IPTV service, which recently passed half a million subscribers.
